Introduction:
Heavy duty Diesel Engine manufacturer based in Cambridgeshire seeks an NVH Engineer for a long term contract position.
Job Specification:
In this position you will contribute to the development of engine and machine products, often involving root cause analysis and recommending solutions to resolve engineering issues. Advanced data analysis techniques and instrumentation are applied to these processes. As a Senior NVH Engineer involvement will include test preparations, the application of appropriate instrumentation, data capture and analysis, through to reporting. Most of the work is based on experimental techniques but there is an increasing need to integrate CAE methods with experimental testing. The role will involve working closely with other team members and liaison with engineers in product teams. The nature of NVH projects, and their visibility within the organisation, demands ownership of deliverables and attention to detail.
The Person
The successful candidate: -
> Must be able to work as part of a team, and be competent to work independently where there are established processes. Will also be capable of day-to-day management of assigned projects.
> Will have successfully run NVH projects in an experimental engine, machine, or vehicle environment.
> Will be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of sound and vibration theory and the fundamentals of signal processing.
> Have effective communication skills, both written and oral, and be able communicate technical information within the company, and with external customers.
> Will display a thorough, but practical approach to problem solving, test execution, and reporting.
And is likely to: -
> Be qualified to Degree level or have equivalent experience.
> Have some experience in areas such as modal analysis, operating shapes, vibro-acoustics, sound intensity, and engine/cab mounting.
> Experience of LMS Test.Lab or 01dB software, Sound Quality analysis, or CAE would be an advantage.
