今天看书看到这个理论，书上也没介绍，请高手解答，谢谢 second order theory is devoted to analysis of large deformation of elastic solid. Conventional first order theory is based upon the assumption that displacement is infinitesimal so that thestrain is the first derivative of displacement neglecting the second derivative of the displacement. When we deal with the problem with large deformation, it is necessary to consider second derivative of the displacement, that is second order theory.
